Dr. Praj has been working my teeth for awhile now. She a highly skilled dentist. She’s done three fillings for me and has the gentlest touch with the local anesthetic. She is a master of teeth cleaning!
Kalani R.Dr. Ruhi Sangha, Dr. Praj Kamat, and their team here at Transcendentist in Berkeley, CA want one thing for our patients – and that is the very best. While x-rays are an indispensable diagnostic tool, we do not expose our patients to high-radiation film-based dental radiography. Instead, we use state-of-the-art digital x-rays for superior diagnostic images with a safer and more comfortable patient experience.
Of all types of dental x-rays, the conventional film-based system remains most common. You are probably familiar with the procedure, which requires you to bite down on a film strip while the radiology technician works. This is uncomfortable for anyone, and it can be quite painful for patients with TMJ disorder or joint conditions.
Digital x-rays don’t use film at all. Instead, a small electric sensor is placed comfortably in your mouth. It can capture high-resolution images almost instantly, with minimal radiation. Because the images are digital, they can easily be enlarged, enhanced, and used for a wide variety of diagnostic purposes.
We choose digital x-rays because they are better for you, and better for the earth.
