Our lounge can sometimes be a who's who of community activists, healers, creatives and visionaries. Our Community Binder, containing business cards, pamphlets, and flyers facilitates connections between our wonderful clients and social profit organizations that share our values. Browse the binder and you just might find the perfect chiropractor, a fantastic weekend event, or the organic caterer you were looking for.

We believe in giving back to the community that supports us and we put our money and our time where our mouths are. When you refer one of your friends or family to our practice, we make a donation to a non-profit to honor you for your confidence in us. In addition to money, we give of ourselves, like providing dental services for an amazing Iraqi woman who was on a speaking tour in the U.S. and developed a nasty toothache. On another front, we donated 500 toothbrushes for children in El Salvador. We also host community programs on topics ranging from Chinese herbs to Woman's wellness and visualization, and are donating our time to the City of Berkeley's efforts to expand the sustainable business sector.

Circle of Life was founded by Julia Butterfly Hill (picture to left), the activist who captured the attention of the world by living more than 2 years in an ancient redwood that was marked for destruction. Because of Julia's activism, that tree, and the entire grove around it, was saved. Circle of Life honors the interdependence of all life and believes that each of us can and does make a difference. They also provide tools and resources to help anyone--from businesses to schools to individuals--live more in harmony with the earth. We share these beliefs. Thank you for helping us to give back!

ASAPROSAR's mission is to empower and serve the poor of El Salvador. ASAPROSAR listens to each community's needs, identifies leaders, and trains these leaders in the areas of health, nutrition, family planning, child development, the environment and sustainable agriculture. The leaders then educate their communities. ASAPROSAR also offers small loans to groups of entrepreneurs, most of them women, and is a leading provider of eye care for low income people all over the country. Transcendentist® has helped with thier efforts in El Salvador.

The Engage Network is a collaboration of Circle of Life and several other organizations and networks, creating a world where people are part of strong and vibrant communities, have a sense of personal purpose and are having fun while making a difference. It operates through small purpose-driven groups of people taking action together in their communities. This organization has launched two sections, including the "What's Your Tree" program, which is designed to support individuals in finding what it is that calls them to stretch beyond what is comfortable, and to realize that they are more powerful and magical than they previously believed; and a program targeted to yoga practitioners entitled Off the Mat Into the World.

Pachamama Alliance's mission is to preserve the Earth's tropical rainforests by empowering the indigenous people who are its natural custodians; and to contribute to the creation of a new global vision of equity and sustainability for all. The initial work of Pachamama is being carried out in partnership with the Achuar, an indigenous group living in the Amazon basin in southeastern Ecuador. One of the first initiatives to evolve from the Achuar's request for support is the development and implementation of an integrated resource management plan for their territory. The goal of this master plan is to insure the long-term well being of the Achuar lands and culture. Pachamama is committed to strengthening and clarifying this vision and to being a clearinghouse of new ideas and information that will alter our perspectives and, ultimately, our behavior.

Rainforest Action Network campaigns for the forests, their inhabitants and the natural systems that sustain life by transforming the global marketplace through education, grassroots organizing, and non-violent direct action. Since it was founded in 1985, the Rainforest Action Network has been working to protect rainforests and the human rights of those living in and around those forests. From the beginning, RAN has played a key role in strengthening the worldwide rainforest conservation movement through supporting activists in rainforest countries as well as organizing and mobilizing consumers and community action groups throughout the United States.

Numi Teas, served in our client lounge, sources its teas and herbs directly from the gardens of origin ensuring the freshest ingredients of the season's latest pickings. Their teas and herbs are certified ORGANIC, Fair Trade, Kosher and Halal. Numi uses only full-leaf tea in their teabags, ensuring a loose-leaf quality tea in every cup. The taste of each tea offers a clean, crisp and long lasting experience. Most tea bags utilize leftover tea dust or fannings that can only be steeped for 30 seconds, otherwise resulting in a bitter taste. To create the purest tea on the planet, Numi uses only real fruits, flowers, herbs and spices in their tea bags, without the added oils or flavorings (including "natural flavorings") common to the market.
